Mother’s Day is a day for celebrating all of the virtuous characteristics found within mothers. It is a day to cherish, recognize, and show appreciation for the mothers, grandmothers, and other mother-figures in all of our lives.
Unless you’re a leftist…
Enter Dr. Ghazaleh Moayedi, M.D., OB/GYN, and above all, abortion provider. For her, just like so many others on the Left, traditions must always be challenged to “get with the progressive times” or risk being destroyed. What does that mean? See ‘traditional marriage,’ ‘Boy Scouts of America,’ and ‘biological males and females.’ Each of those examples is rooted in tradition or scientific fact, or both. Traditional marriage was hijacked by homosexuals, the Boy Scouts of America organization was browbeaten into allowing girls to join, and the world was told anyone can be any gender they please, because gender is “fluid,” not biologically determined, and completely subject to the innermost feelings of each individual.
What does this have to do with Mother’s Day? Well, it seems Dr. Moayedi subscribes to the foolishness that is the argument in favor or the “rationality” of transgenderism, applying the standard similarly to the term “mother.” Get ready, because this is disgusting… She believes that the term “motherhood” extends to any and every woman who has ever had an abortion! Here’s what she said, verbatim:
“For my patients who were not parents, and did not want to be at that moment, or who never want to be a parent, I recognize their abortions as an act of intentional motherhood.”
Not only was that hot garbage expelled from her mind, through her article, she also decided to redefine “love” as well, adding this:
“Choosing when to parent is an act of love. For my patients that were already parenting, I feel the deep love they had both for the children they had and for the pregnancies they were ending. Choosing an abortion is an act of love.”
Choosing to murder a child in the womb, for all of the common and ridiculous pro-choice arguments, is now considered not only acceptable, but virtuous! She actually places this idea right next to going through nine months of labor, birthing a child, and lovingly raising a baby! Killing a child holds just as much virtue as raising one! This is extremely unsettling, to say the least.
As I stated earlier, the Left aim to destroy traditions, institutions, and facts that do not conform to their horribly warped and disfigured sense of how the world should work. Mother’s Day is not immune. You do not actually have to be a mother anymore to qualify, you simply have to have had an abortion. At the same time, she equates actual motherhood, in the traditional sense, with her twisted and perverse, agenda-driven view of high-level motherhood. Abortion must exist on such a high level, that all of us in the real world cannot fathom just how much love and care goes into making the incredibly selfless decision to forgo the all-too-familiar nine months of pregnancy complications, the obvious pain of birthing a human being, and the time, energy, and sacrifice it takes to raise a child up through young adulthood (and sometimes FAR beyond, fellow millennials!). The sacrifice, love, and virtue is signaled on a transcendent level, I tell you!
Abortion is not virtuous. Even many who are pro-choice will admit that abortion is inherently bad, and that it is a sort of last resort, usually to be undergone due to either a threat to the life of the mother or in the case that the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest. Certainly, it should not be considered an act of love, bestowing the honorable title of “mother” to all those who take part in it. Mother’s Day can just be for actual mothers. Love doesn’t have to be perverted to encompass inherently negative, bad, selfish, or even evil behavior.
